Welcome

I provide psychotherapy and counseling services for individuals ranging in age from 16 upwards. All clients are treated as unique individuals and, as such, I work with you using a variety of modalities to suit your specific needs.
Many times, awareness or better understanding of ourselves, nurtured in a supportive environment can provide us with the tools needed to help navigate our way through life's challenges with greater clarity.
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I can support you in moving through anxiety, panic attacks, depression, PTSD, relationship, and general life challenges. As a certified "Am I Hungry?" Mindful Eating Practitioner, I can work with you to improve your relationship to food and your body.
Some of the techniques I use are mindfulness, guided imagery, inner child work, focusing, experiential psychotherapy, body psychotherapy, DBT and MCBT. I incorporate the latest research in neurobiology, trauma, and mindfulness. These, however, are only techniques. As a holistic psychotherapist, I honour that I am working with people first - Body, mind and spirit.
My years spent - some on a personal, and all in a professional capacity - dealing with anxiety, panic, depression, trauma and PTSD has given me the experience and insight to connect with people experiencing these challenges on a deeper and more authentic level. Although many people can benefit from using mindfulness to foster a healthier connection with food and their bodies, there is a higher incidence of emotional eating with people who have experienced trauma. The official diagnosis of PTSD adds even greater potential for the development of a diagnosed Binge Eating Disorder. Our relationship with food is closely linked to how we feed ourselves on both a physical and emotional level and often mirrors how we handle all other relationships in our lives.
I can help you, whether in need of a therapeutic approach to move through underlying trauma and emotional issues, or in a coaching capacity with mindful eating for groups and workplace wellness.
